City view/城市一瞥

Merciless swords drawn,

Winds push and shove across the city.

I glare back at the sun — splintered gold.

Something stirs and creeps deep inside one’s shrivelled heart.

 

无情的剑已出鞘，

狂风在城市间推搡、冲撞。

我回瞪着太阳——碎裂的黄金。

有什么东西在干瘪的心脏深处苏醒、爬行。

 

A quiet memory rekindling in a spark,

Small flames lick the darkness soft —

It grows and shapes, complexion colouring.

My throat fights back the nausea of illiterate nostalgia.

 

一段静默的记忆在火星中复燃，

细小的火焰轻柔地舔舐黑暗——

它生长、成形，给面容染上颜色。

我的喉咙强忍那种无法言说的怀旧所带来的反胃。

 

Come on, are you shying away?

Look at the hobbit-looking man —

Who so reverently presses toxic fumes to his withering mouth.

The city shines a coin, not a mirror.

 

怎么了，你在躲什么？

看看那个像霍比特人般矮小的男人——

他如此虔诚地，把有毒的烟雾贴向自己枯萎的嘴。

这座城市闪耀的是一枚硬币，而不是一面镜子。

 

Buildings building complexes of childhood wonder,

Drafted up right next to the financial cynicism.

Muted browns and a burning red drug sign,

Cardboard cup loses hold of the coffee inside it —

Bleeding onto the pavement.

 

高楼堆砌起童年奇想的综合体，

却紧贴着金融冷漠的蓝图而建。

压低的棕色，与一块燃烧般的红色药店招牌，

纸杯松了手，杯中的咖啡——

流血般洒在路面上。
